Today EDC was pleased to have retired lecturer Alwyn Jones in our office to discuss Ivan Illichs work such as the classic “Deschooling Society”. Alwyn also used some of his own work to reflect the industrial society on the ecological society (“The violence of materialism in advanced industrial society: an eco sociological approach”, Alwyn Jones, The sociological review, Vol 35, No 1, 1987, p44.)
