After a nice party at Sharon’s home last Friday, I had an early start on Saturday and went to a conference at UWIC, hosted by the co-operative group in association with the Institute of Welsh Affairs. I went with vague ideas of topics I would like to put further research in. I came back with a much wider learnings and ideas.

The conference started with an overview of the co-op group and created a good buzz to recruit new members. The co-op already exists since 1844 and maybe they are the first organisation to put life cycle thinking in their mission. They describe themselves as offering everything going from the cradle to the grave (food to funeral care). And to boost their ecodesign credentials, the grave stage isn’t to bad, they can offer “the first carbon neutral funeral”.
